The Vines and Sweet Billy Pilgrim Are Coming to Rock Band

Harmonix and MTV Games have announced that this week two new acts will make their debut in the music simulation title Rock Band. The Vines, an alternative rock band from Australia, will join Sweet Billy Pilgrim, rockers from England in a new downloadable content pack that will be available for the Xbox 360 from Microsoft, the PlayStation 3 from Sony and the Nintendo Wii. All the songs are unlocked in the Rock Band Store on July 13.

The Vines will brings five tracks to Rock Band. “Get Out,” “He’s a Rocker” and “Orange Amber” are taken from “Melodia” their album launched in 2008 and debuted at number 12 in the Australian ARIA charts. The alternative band is also offering “Ride”, taken from “Winning Days”, an album launched in 2004, and “Outthathaway” from the 2006 launched album “Vision Valley”. Tine Vines are perhaps best known for the “Highly Evolved” album, which caused an appearance on the cover of Rolling Stones.

Meanwhile Sweet Billy Pilgrim are contributing the song “Future Perfect Sense” which is leading their album “Twice Born Men”, which was recorded in a shed. The band is currently touring Europe in support of The Who and Jamie Cullum.

The songs mentioned above will be offered as The Vines Pack 01, for the price of 680 Microsoft Points on the Xbox 360 and the equivalent in real world money on the PlayStation 3. On the Nintendo Wii players can only pick up individual tracks for 200 Wii Points.

Besides launching new DLC for current Rock Band products every week Hearmonix and MTV Games are also working on a third full installment in the series, which is set to be launched during the fall of this year, with the game set to offer more simulation options and support for the keyboard for the first time in the series.
