The V CAST Mobile TV Enabled Samsung SCH-u620

Things have just gotten a whole lot better stateside after the announcement made by Verizon that they will launch the V CAST Mobile TV service in the first quarter of 2007, a service that will enable Americans all across USA to watch live video streaming from FOX, MTV, NBC, CBS, Nickelodeon and, my all time favorite and probably the only TV channel I would watch, Comedy Central.

One of the few handsets that will offer access to this new service will be the slider form factor Samsung SCH-u620 cellphone, which despite its normal looking shape, will offer the future owners the possibility to watch the video streaming in landscape mode.

The device works on CDMA 850 / 1900 MHz networks and offers EV-DO data transfer technology and sports a big, vibrant 2 inch QVGA TFT LCD display capable of working at a resolution of 320x240 pixels.

Also, the handset features a 1.3 megapixel digital camera with camcorder with MMS length or full length capabilities, wireless Bluetooth connectivity with stereo headset profile, speakerphone functionality, a document viewer application for DOC, XLS, PPT, PDF, TXT, HTM and image file extensions, a microSD memory expansion card slot and a very handy advanced speech recognition with dictation.

This cellphone will also provide its future users with an easy way of viewing the latest streaming television programs through the V CAST Mobile TV, a quick way to download music on the phone through the V CAST Music service, download mobile content as games, ring tones, wallpapers through Get it Now and stream or download video clips through V CAST Video and 3D Games service offered by Verizon.

The date of the official launch or the price this mobile phone will have in the Verizon retail stores are yet to be found but the rumors say the release will take place some time during the first quarter of 2007.
