The "Un-sexiest" Lady on the Planet Speaks Out

When Maxim magazine put SATC lead actress Sarah Jessica Parker at the top of its list of "un-sexiest" actresses, the public reactions were – as always – very different. One opinion was unanimous, though – that Sarah herself had reacted to the news in a way that made her look classy and more tactful and intelligent than many of us assumed she was. However, her composure, good humor and overall "I never thought I was sexy, either" attitude scored her a lot of points with her fans and even more with the general public. However, it turns out that we were too fast to judge – as the actress' dignity and good humor turned out to be no more than a mask for quite a lot of frustration.

In an interview with Grazia magazine, Parker talks about how traumatic it was for her to come to terms with the title she received. "It's so brutal in a way, so filled with rage and anger. It upset him [Matthew], because it has to do with his judgment too. Do I have big fake boobs, Botox and big lips? No. Do I fit some ideals and standards of some men writing in a men's magazine? Maybe not", she challenged. The fact is, she seems to be forgetting such an unflattering title is not to be taken very seriously. In the end, her achievements speak louder than her looks. The Maxim survey was all about image, appearance and not essence – and indeed, not fitting the "big boobs, no brains" pattern is not such a horrible thing after all.

"Am I really the un-sexiest women in the world? Wow! It's kind of shocking...It's condemnation, it's insane. What can I do? I guess you can't please all people", she added in the same interview. Which again proves that it's not as easy as it may seem to star in a movie which has the word "sex" in the title line, play one of television's best-loved characters in recent history, be married to a good-looking, talented actor and still feel completely comfortable and secure in your own skin.
