Canonical's crowd-funding project has lost some steam

The Ubuntu Edge crowd-funding campaign has started with record smashing numbers, but the tempo of the pledges has subsided and the projections are not all that favorable.

Canonical has started the campaign with great enthusiasm and some great offers and it has managed to get past the $7 million (€5,27 million) mark with relative ease.

The company has also introduced a number of new pledges that have provided some incentives for potential buyers, and which have given the project a much-needed boost.

In order to stay above the curve, Canonical needs to gather a lot more money than it's doing right now. An Ubuntu Edge fan has made a very useful website, ubuntu-edge.info, that shows whether the phone is on track and what its chances are.

Ubuntu Edge is a phone developed by Canonical that is currently the object of a record crowd-funding project. More details about this great device can be found in our original report on the matter.
