USB sticks with a built in digital still camera are not new on the market. A few models are on sale, but they weren't promoted enough.
Transcend offers an USB drive with a built in VGA digital still camera.
Named JetFlash
DSC, the device allows users to shoot digital photos and transfer them to a PC, without needing a card reader or an USB cable.
The drive is equipped with a 0.25-inch CMOS image sensor that takes photos in JPG format, at a 640X480 (VGA) resolution, 55 KB sized. After the photos are taken, they can be transferred to a PC and then can be touched up using software bundled with JetFlash DSC. The lenses have a maximum aperture of F2.8 with a viewing angle of 53 degrees.
JetFlash DSC has also a built in rechargeable battery (li-ion), that is recharged via the
USB port. Its size is relatively small, measuring 80×29×6mm and weighting 26 grams.
The USB stick comes in two models, 128 MB and 256 MB.
The 128 MB model is priced at 46 USD.
