The continuation to the first movie in the rebooted franchise “Planet of the Apes,” titled “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes,” has debuted a full-length trailer online, after several teasers and TV spots we've been constantly getting since last winter.

In the almost 3-minute-long video, we get a better look at the society that Oscar, the ape, has built away from humans that have meanwhile been almost totally annihilated by an artificial virus. After men and apes come into contact again, a new war erupts seeking to determine Earth's new dominant species.

Caesar, the leader of the apes, can be heard saying “apes together strong” as he sets his troops to assault the now ruined cities where men seek refuge. The role of Oscar is played by Andy Serkis, while some of the parts in the human camp are played by Jason Clarke, Keri Russel and Gary Oldman.

The director of the movie, Matt Reeves, has claimed that his creation is “an ape-point-of-view” film where “the apes are still coming into being, so it has a kind of majestic but also primitive, tribal aspect to it.”

The movie that presents a very bleak alternative to our immediate future will be out in theaters this summer, starting July 11.
