Lindsay Lohan plays a stripper and she will be pole dancing. That's all the marketing this movie needs. You put Lindsay Lohan in a stripper's outfit, make sure she takes pole dancing lessons, be sure to film her and you've got yourself an audience.
However, the producers of "I Know Who Killed Me" did not rely on this alone, so they released several trailers. You can see one of them at the end of this post. They also released a number of pictures, two of which you can also see here.
The movie is set to hit the theaters on July 27. But what about the movie itself? My apologies, it seems I got carried away with what makes this movie appealing in the first place. If you are concerned with the genre, it's mostly a thriller, but you could also make it a horror or a drama.
As for Lindsay Lohan, she plays a young girl named Aubrey who is abducted and tortured by a serial killer. She manages to get away and she pretends that she is someone else, while saying that the psycho still has Aubrey. That's basically all we're gonna tell you about the plot. Not because we're scrooge, but because we don't wanna give you a spoiler or anything (Lindsay Lohan plays a stripper, remember?).
Speaking about this hype about Li-Lo playing a stripper, I think it is so overrated. I agree that Lindsay Lohan is a sexy actress, but that's basically it. I can't help comparing the concept of "I Know Who Killed Me" with that of Demi Moore's 1996 "Striptease". They have the same basic marketing scheme: make sure that the starring role (the stripper) is played by a hot, famous actress. Now in Demi Moore's case, she is not only a hot, famous actress, she is also a very talented actress that proved the measure of her talent time and time again.
Allow me to notice another discrepancy between these two similar movies. Everybody that has seen the movie surely remembers that Demi Moore didn't do just one strip scene. No sir! She stripped several times and I do mean she STRIPPED. When it comes to Lindsay, that proves to be a major problem. For you see, Lindsay Lohan plays a stripper (I've said this so many times already), but she doesn't strip. There will be no nudity involved. She just dances seductively.
