M779 from Stacco Switch

When you work in an office, someone's keyboard typing habits can tell quite a lot about the respective person and his/her current mood. For example, when we're angry about something, we tend to hit the keys a bit harder, and that can lead to faster breakdown times in normal keyboards. However, that's not the case at all with the device you'll about to see as follows, namely the M779 rugged keyboard from Stacco Switch, an input device so solid and sturdy that will probably laugh in the face of any hardcore typing office worker.

Aimed, according to the manufacturer's own statement, especially at the employees working for the Police, Fire and EMT services this thing features 86 keys in QWERTY configuration, sports a waterproof design and even has backlit keys, emitting a soft glow in dark to medium lighted room. It's not too big, either, since it measures 160 mm x 289.6 mm x 41.8 mm, and is capable of resisting an actuating force of 90 +/- 30 grams, as well as shocks of up to 4G.

Moreover, not only can it withstand the action of normal water, but it has no problem with any other materials spilled onto it, as for example chemicals, coffee dust and any other foreign materials. Another very interesting thing about the M779 ruggedized keyboard from Stacco Switch is the fact that it includes a two-button touch pad (thus eliminating the need for a mouse), as well as an USB port, so you can very easily connect your flash drive or any other USB-capable devices.

There's no word on the pricing of this thing, at least not on the company's website, but you'll probably have to fork out a pretty penny in order to get it, considering just how tough the keyboard promises to be.
