Facebook has had a good a year as ever in 2010. While it didn't see the kind of explosive growth in user numbers it got in 2009, Facebook continued to 'infiltrate' itself into every part of the web. The now ubiquitous Like button has been doing its job and Facebook users have been 'linking' stuff in record numbers. Nowhere is this more evident than on the Facebook Pages which now have more fans than ever.

Last July, the first Facebook pages were breaking through the 10 million fans barrier, now, at the start of 2011, none of the top 10 pages have less than 20 million, and the top two have over 30 million.

The most popular page on Facebook as 2011 gets underway shouldn't really be much of a surprise, Zynga's Texas Hold'em Poker has enjoyed this position for many months.

While it's not Zynga's most popular game, CityVille now takes that honor having overtaken FarmVille, Texas Hold'em Poker's page now has close to 32 million fans. Facebook's own page is not far behind, with 31.5 million fans.

These two seem to have picked up speed, as the third most popular page of the moment on Facebook, Michael Jackson's, 'only' has 26.3 million fans. That still makes him the most popular celebrity on the social network, living or otherwise.

Lady Gaga is not far behind, she's always made the most of what the web offers and it shows, her page has close to 26 million fans, still 500,000 behind Michael Jackson's.

YouTube is making a surprise entry at number five with 25.6 million fans, only 200,000 behind Lady Gaga. YouTube has set out to get as many Facebook fans as possible, early last year, and it seems to be working. Half a year ago, YouTube wasn't even in the top 10.

Moving down the list, a mixture of celebrities, TV shows and popular brands like Coca Cola and Starbucks fill the ranks. And the competition is quite close, Vin Diesel is now in the 14th spot and he's bound to have the latest page to go past 20 million fans any time now.
