The Thursday War Halo Novel Linked to Fourth Game in the Series

Publisher Tor Books has announced that it is planning to launch a new Halo novel, called The Thursday War, which will be launched on October 2 and will be offered both in hardcover form and as an audio book.

The book will be written by Karen Traviss, who has previous experience working with the Halo franchise and with Gears of War 3 novelizations, and will continue the so-called Kilo-Five Trilogy.

Frank O’Connor, who is the franchise development director working at 343 Industries, has said that the story told in The Thursday War will be used to set up the “events and the circumstances” that will then create the narrative for Halo 4, the Xbox 360 exclusive to be launched during the fall of 2012.

The Thursday War will tackle events that happen after the Human-Covenant War and will detail how factions inside both humanity and its opponents are still fighting one another.
