First look at hyped remake turns fans off, gets them upset

One of the passion projects that spent forever in gestation is Peter and Bobby Farrelly's remake of “The Three Stooges.” It's finally been made and it just got a brand new trailer. Calling it bad is somewhat an understatement.

While the trailer shows that the three leads Sean Hayes, Will Sasso and Chris Diamantopoulos got the mannerisms of Larry, Curly and Moe down to a T, the rest is truly horrendous.

The Stooges were funny because they came at a particular point in time, in a particular context, which no longer applies. Taking those jokes and forcefully having them play out in modern times doesn't really seem to work.

What we're left is crude and physical humor, and fart jokes that perhaps only nostalgics will sit through, with still to be determined results.

And yes, “The Three Stooges” also features a cameo from Snooki, because the characters somehow stumble on the set of MTV's “Jersey Shore.”

The film is out on April 13, 2012 but make sure you check out the trailer above before you buy your ticket.
