The Taser Gun Is Back with a Shock

It's quite a well-known fact that the world we live in is far from being a safe one, as the level of crime across the globe has risen to very high values during the past few years. That's the main reason behind the development of non-lethal self-defense devices, and one of the most famous devices from this family is the electric Taser gun, a personal protection system that will certainly "shock" any aggressor. And after the first model of the series proved to be extremely useful and popular among consumers and law enforcement agencies alike, the manufacturers have just launched an updated version, called Taser C2.

The working principle is the same as in the case of the first family
of taser guns. The user pulls the trigger, and the device fires two electrified wires with very sharp hooks at the end that, once "connected" to the assailant, send a very powerful, yet non-lethal electric shock. However, the Taser C2 offers some pretty new and interesting features, the most important being the SureCheck system.

Thus, the Taser C2 units are shipped in an inactivated state and they cannot be used until the end user successfully completes a background check using a secure web site or a telephone number. After completing the background check, the user is issued an activation code unique to their serial number, the only way of activating the TASER C2.

The unit also features a highly intuitive safety cover and trigger design that novice users can easily operate, and which protects the trigger from accidental activation to provide a safer, effective means of personal protection. Moreover, the device has an increased range, of up to 4.5 meters, which is quite enough to calm down any aggressor from a distance.

Another interesting fact about the Taser C2 is that, in order to make it available to a wider audience, the new design eliminates most of the high-end professional features such as dataport management, digital displays, and the TASER CAM interface. Thus, the device is available starting at $299, which is a pretty low sum to pay in order to feel safe at all times.

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. These kinds of weapons offer false security, unless you are trained in using one and can carry it in a place you can access at all times. This often means that you'd need two or three of these weapons. If you have one in your purse and someone grabs it or if you're pinned against something and you cannot access it, you're equally in trouble unless you know how to free yourself.
