She’s said before that she didn’t make music to make money or attain fame. For Scottish singing sensation Susan Boyle, music is much more than that: it’s a way of finding herself and reaching out to people, while the studio is her very own sanctuary.

In a recent interview cited by gossip blogger Perez Hilton under Quote of the Day, Susan speaks of the joys of being in the studio and what she hopes to accomplish with her music, most of the things that, her fans would agree, she’s already done.

Now with another best-selling and chart-topping album under her belt, Susan can look back at what has been an amazing ride since she’s done Britain’s Got Talent. But it’s not the fame or the money that she appreciates most but rather the joy of making music.

“The studio is my sanctuary. To return to it, well it feels like home away from home,” Susan says of going back to the studio to record her latest release, “The Gift.”

“The studio is like being inside a bubble and a place I can step away from the worry of life. As soon as I put the cans (headphones) on I know that I am safe,” the singer reveals.

As for the incredible attention she’s been getting ever since she broke into the spotlight on the BGT auditions, Susan says she’s overwhelmed by it, even if it’s not what’s most important for her.

“It’s a bit breathtaking, you know. For me, it’s not about album sales or chart positions. It is that the people buying my music are enjoying it,” she says.

“They are the ones who will hopefully keep me in this business for years to come. I don’t want it to end and I want them to keep enjoying my music,” Susan explains.

As long as she continues singing with the same passion as until now, she shouldn’t worry about people stopping one day from buying her music – both her records released so far have gone to set new records in terms of sales.
