A technological Jack of all trades from LTB Audio Systems

Wireless seems to be the word of the day lately, and the number of manufacturers launching all sorts of devices with wireless capabilities is constantly increasing. Some of these things might be quite useful to some extent, but there are also some gadgets that offer so much that seem too good to be true. And that's exactly the type of device I'm going to show you as follows, since the Q-bean from LTB Audio Systems claims to offer just about anything you might think of, from digital CD-quality audio to a built in microphone for speech and remote tracking features for Windows users.

Thus, it seems that the Q-bean system will allow a wireless two link to personal computers, enabling the users to take advantage of such features as VOIP telephony, speech recognition and speech to text functions, but also music and movie playback. The device is formed out of 2 main parts: a 2.4GHz digital radio transmitter (called USB Puck) that connects to a system's USB ports and provides non-compressed streaming audio, and a powerful receiver, capable of receiving the signals even through walls and ceilings. This receiver is actually the core of the whole Q-bean system, since it integrates a microphone jack for voice communications anywhere within 30 meters of the transmitter, Windows Media player remote functions, as well as a powerful antenna with GSFK modulation.

One of the most interesting features of the Q-bean system is that it includes a special technology, called ARIO, which resembles Bluetooth, but has the advantage that it can generate a powerful digital non-compressed signal on a range of up to 30 meters, without interfering with other wireless devices. Moreover, it provides very good interconnectivity with various portable devices (media players, wireless speakers, USB plug and play adapters and more), and it even comes with its own ear-bud headphones, so that the user will be able to enjoy a complete media experience.

It's questionable whether this Jack of all trades will be the master of anyone of them, but that remains to be seen after the device hits the market, at an yet undisclosed date or price.

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. That's why we thought it would be a good idea to create an email address for you to help us a little in finding gadgets we missed. Interesting links are bound to be posted with recognition going mainly to those who submit. The address is .
