We hope most of you agree that this question is as funny as it is common; and it somehow resembles the "if you are so smart, then why aren't you rich?" bitter remark. Well, the answer is because just few of us are designers... and it's a perfectly true statement. Unlike most of us, Jack J. Allwood is a designer and he also has a very creative mind: that's why he has actually thought about ways to make our lives easier and his strives have given birth to the Static Tri-prism.

Well, the name might look a bit Star Trek-ish, yet the principle behind this gadget is amazingly simple: static electricity being used to harvest the sawdust and similar materials and thus preventing the usual mess in your workplaces.

The Static Tri-prism is a very cool and handy object that could make a lot of carpenters and handymen way happier. Still, we must take into account its diminutive size, which makes this gadget suitable for domestic-scale applications and not for industrial use. If your working desk and crafting business can fit in a small room, then the Static Tri-prism is to be considered.

We're not quite clear whether the Static Tri-prism comes with a built-in battery or a wall adapter, but one thing is for sure: an electric current passes through the pyramid-shaped foil and creates an electrostatic field that attracts the small particles flying around it. And if you're sawing or drilling or using abrasive discs, then you're most likely to produce some serious debris that will then spread all over the place.

Thanks to the Static Tri-prism, you'll never have to bring the vacuum cleaner to make things tidy again: just grab the prism from its handle, carry it in the place where you use to dispose of the garbage, press the release button and shake it clean. This might be one of the best-looking gadgets intended for cleaning; unfortunately, no one knows if we're gonna see it in stores soon.

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. That's why we thought it would be a good idea to create an email address for you to help us a little in finding gadgets we missed. Interesting links are bound to be posted with recognition going mainly to those who submit. The address is .
