Code M from Dada Footwear

Lately, convergence has become a very important concept for the manufacturers of electronic devices, and it is also slowly turning towards other areas, different from the strictly technological ones. And a very good example of convergence is a pair of sport shoes featuring an embedded MP3 player offered by Dada Footwear.

This product might seem a little strange when you first see it, but its manufacturers are convinced that it represents "a revolutionary step forward in the way people will use and think about their footwear in the future." (Lavetta Willis, CEO of LL International, the parent company of Dada Footwear), and are betting on the several major advantages it offers.

Possibly the most important of all is exactly the convergence mentioned above, because now you won't have to buy two different products (the trainers and the MP3 player), but just one that combines both in a very smart manner. Thus, the elements of MP3 technology of the Code M shoes are integrated in the shoe's tongue and heel, and the player's headphones are obviously wireless, offering a range of about 9 m.

The player's performances are relatively good, considering the product's concept, as it has enough internal memory to store 100 songs, which the user (or should I say wearer) can listen to for 6 straight hours (the battery life). In order to upload the mp3 files into the memory, one must use the USB port which can be found on the side of the shoes (a port that has a double function, because it is also used for recharging the battery).

But this product is only the beginning, because the manufacturers have great plans for this concept. Lavetta Willis says that they are preparing the 'get-fit' program, which will provide access to workout-related data, possibly delivered by a personal trainer's voice, and the 'get-smart' program, which will allow users to forward phone calls from a cell phone to the Code M headset.

The trainers with an embedded MP3 Player from Dada will cost around 200 dollars, and if you want to find out how you can get your hands on a pair, or find out more information on the product, visit http://www.dadafootwear.com/.
