If you crave to buy a smartwatch these days and you want to throw your money at a well-known tech brand, it will set you back with at least $200 / €147.

But if you live in India or you’re passing through the country, you should know you might be able to acquire a smartwatch that sells for under $100 / €73.

The Spice Mobile company has just rolled out the Spice Smart Pulse, which is a smartwatch that sells for the super affordable $67 / €49 price tag, as reported by NDTV.

Don’t go rolling your eyeballs just yet because the product brings to the table a functionality we haven’t seen in any of the smartwatches present on the market today.

Apart from being able to pair itself with any smartphone from the Android garden and relay notifications, text messages and stream music, the device can act as a phone too.

The Pulse comes equipped with dual SIM cards and can be used as a standalone smartphone for placing phone calls, text message and browse online.

So now, if you forget your smartphone at home, it shouldn’t be such a big tragedy anymore. And if talking to your wrist might look weird, you can avoid all the social mockery and pair the device with a Bluetooth headset.

The Smart Pulse comes equipped with a 1.6-inch capacitive touchscreen and offers 240 x 320 pixel resolution (which is quite an odd one, considering the LG G Watch comes with 280 x 280 res, while the Gear 2 brings 320 x 320 pixels to the party.

Other than that, the watch has a microSD card slot, GSM 900/1800 MHz support, FM Radio and support for MP4 video playback. The watch also has a camera onboard, so you can try to snap some photos with it, no matter how awkward this might be.

We’re not offered the specifics about which OS we have on board, but by the looks of it, it must be an Android-based operating system. The Pulse arrives with a bunch of apps, including an alarm and calculator but if you want more in your life, you’ll need to pair it with a smartphone.

Customers interested in purchasing the device should know Spice throws in the option of changing the wristband and opting for a blue, red or green one, in case you don’t like the black one. So, are you tempted yet?
