It's a very good period for the Japanese designers as these weeks we've seen quite a release frenzy, with all sorts of gadgets being showcased and announced, from the wackiest projects to exceptional design ideas with seriously feasible character. It's now time for another contraption from Japan's pioneering manufacturer, JVC, in the body of the Sound Garden; the name speaks a lot about what's going on – we're dealing with a very nice combination between nature and technology.

When it comes to nature, we'd all agree that after leaving mount Fuji aside, the next thing in line are Bonsai trees. While the Japanese have developed an entire cult for growing Bonsai trees, this habit has also become a form of art.

And what better mixture could you ever think of than one bringing together art, nature and technology. The Sound Garden has been developed as high-class proof that one can indeed enjoy nature and no-joke sound within the same gadget; and of course, adding a rather spectacular look to his or her interior design.

Modular design for these speakers

The JVC Sound Garden is in fact a multi-directional speaker system. “System” because it is based on a modular concept, allowing the owner to link several pieces together and thus create a serious loudspeaker array capable of delivering quite a blast, whether we're thinking about music or movies. The Sound Garden elements contain a full-range driver and a subwoofer as well, so that the sonic output will be chunky and rich, far from what similar diminutive speakers are usually capable of delivering.

The green part is that each element comes with a special slot in which you can lay a small container with earth and a tiny Bonsai tree to bring a touch of green in your office. And thanks to the fact that these speakers have moderate footprint, being easy to install in almost any place, imagine how nice your room would look with speakers scattered around, each with a small tree raising from it and casting a small shadow from above.

And to make the green message even clearer and more powerful, the JVC Sound Garden is made from totally renewable and recyclable materials. There is no word on availability, pricing or detailed technical specs, yet we'd surely adore to have some Sound Gardens around the office here!

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. That's why we thought it would be a good idea to create an email address for you to help us a little in finding gadgets we missed. Interesting links are bound to be posted with recognition going mainly to those who submit. The address is .
