Just hope you will never be trapped somewhere underground

Out of all the Chromebooks and all their designs I’ve seen, I have finally found one that definitely knows how to stand out: the solar-powered, submersible laptop.

Dubbed the Sol and built by WeWi Telecommunications, not only is the laptop meant to handle severe environmental stress, but it is also able to recharge its battery directly from the sun. How is that for wireless charging?

According to PCAdvisor, the device has an Intel Atom processor, up to 4GB of memory, is 13.3 inches in size and sports a hard drive of 320GB.

As far as pricing goes, it starts at $350 / €261. Not much for your very own submersible solar-powered notebook.

I mentioned it was a Chromebook, but as far as testing goes, the system has only been tested with Ubuntu Linux. Oh, and you are afraid that the battery won't last you as long; do not worry: in normal working conditions for a submersible, rugged laptop, it lasts for around 10 hours.
