A great device for your holidays

The trend of headphones with built-in FM receivers could be considered rather yesterday's news, but the device you're
about to see, the Solar Powered Headphones with Radio presented by Paramount Zone, is probably trying to bring back the life into this once hip concept. However, in order to revive it, the manufacturers needed some cool design feature, and that came in the form of a solar panel that powers the device's internal NiMH AAA batteries.

The biggest advantage this system has to offer is clearly the lack of any bothersome wiring, thus granting the user complete freedom of movement. Moreover, it fits heads of all sizes, due to the fact that it features a comfortable dual headband, and it has an internal antenna, which, besides providing powerful reception, also makes the device look like an ordinary pair of headphones.

As for the solar charger, the manufacturers inform us that one hour of sunlight provides 1-3 hours of listening, and fully charged, the headset radio will run for up to 20 hours, which is quite a lot. The greatest disadvantage of this device is that it requires a lot of sunpower in order to work at full capacity, and summer's almost over. But as we all know (or at least those lucky ones who actually get to go there) there are some places around the world where summer never stops, so this could come in handy, after all.

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. That's why we thought it would be a good idea to create an email address for you to help us a little in finding gadgets we missed. Interesting links are bound to be posted with recognition going mainly to those who submit. The address is .
