The development team at Maxis and publisher Electronic Arts are launching a new trailer for the upcoming The Sims 4, which focuses on the wide range of emotions that the various characters can express in the title.

The two companies state that “With big personalities defined by their traits, aspirations, skills, and emotions, the possibilities are greater than ever.”

One of the central elements of The Sims 4 is a new engine that makes all the characters smarter, better able to understand how to behave in different situations and how to interact with friends and with rivals.

The game also introduces a faster and more intuitive system for building houses and for improving them, with a wider range of items that gamers can create and then share with the community.

The life simulation title will focus on the core attributes of its characters and will open up a range of possibilities based on both their positive and their negative emotional states.

The Sims 4 will be launched on the PC on September 2 in the United States and two days later in Europe, and Electronic Arts has also suggested that the game might be ported to the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 at a later date.
