The development team at Maxis and publisher Electronic Arts are giving fans of the Sims series a new look at the coming fourth full title in the series, while also announcing that the pre-load options for the game should be available for the majority of players who have already bought the game via Origin.

The footage is pretty extensive and shows some of the most important features of the new life simulation experience, starting with the smarter characters, the new ways they can interact, and the complex and fast new system that can be used to design and re-decorate houses.

In an official announcement, Electronic Arts states, "Pre-load is currently rolling out for everyone who pre-ordered the game on Origin. When it’s available in your area, just launch Origin and download your copy. You can check to see by hovering your cursor over the game tile in your Game Library."

The game will actually be unlocked in the United States at 12 AM EDT on September 2 and at 9 PM PDT on September 1.

The Sims 4 will be launched on September 4 in Europe and one day later in the United Kingdom, but at the moment, official unlock times have not been offered for those markets.
