The development team at Maxis and publisher Electronic Arts are delivering a day one patch for their title The Sims 4, which is designed to fix two major crashes that have been discovered since the game went gold and to generally improve the core experience.

At the moment, the title is offered in North America on the PC, and gamers who live in Europe will get access to it in another two days.

The official announcement says that the biggest problems that are eliminated are:

- Fixed a crash in Build Mode by preventing the game from thinking fences were rooms. - Fixed a crash in Create A Sim that could occur after you lock and unlock your computer.

There are also a number of other bugs that have been squashed, the most funny of which allowed the various characters to actively seek to go on a date with the Grim reaper, which often made The Sims 4 unresponsive.

Maxis states, “The Reaper still loves ya baby, he is just too busy to go on a date with every lovelorn Sim that vies for his attention.”

The rest of the fixes are linked to the Build Mode, babies, Create a Sim, the library which holds player-crafted houses and other content, and the splitting mechanic.

Maxis says that all those who are playing The Sims 4 should use the official forums of the game or the support site of Electronic Arts in order to report any issues, which means that the team will have a clear image of what it needs to fix next.

The life simulation title is big and complex and that means there are plenty of issues that cannot be caught by the limited manpower of the Quality Assurance department, and the development team has said that it plans to offer long-term support for the title.

The Sims 4 is designed to give players a chance to interact with smarter and more emotional characters, with a range of new choices linked to both their careers and their personal lives.

Maxis is also making it much easier to create interesting protagonists, and a new build mode is designed to allow players to make quick and interesting modifications to their homes.

The Sims 4 also enhances the sharing aspect of the game and every user is able to create his own line of items that can then quickly be shared with the community.
