The Sims 2: Pets is the fourth expansion pack in The Sims 2 series of games, as well as a stand-alone game for several consoles. It is published by Electronic Arts. Characters in the game-known as Sims-can own cats, dogs, a bandit cat, "womrats" (creatures similar to guinea pigs, whose name is a combination between wombat and rat), and birds. Pets feature 72 pre-made breeds of dogs and thirty pre-made breeds of cats. Pets can be acquired in five ways: over the phone, in "Create-A-Pet," in a pet shop, found as a stray dog/alley cat or by having a controlled Sim give or sell a pet to another Sim. Create-A-Pet is similar to "Create-a-Sim," where one builds human Sim characters.

In Create-a-Pet, players may customize a cat or dog by choosing patterns and colors of coat, body shape, facial structure and personality, which determines playfulness, neatness, and intelligence.

Friendship Trick
Quickly increase your friendship to 100. In the Object Catalog, go to "Seating", then purchase the "Garden Swing". Place the swing on your lot. Select the swing with X then place it in your inventory. Go to Town Square and place the swing on the lot and sit down. Call over your Sims and you will increase your friendship to 100 as long as your Sim is in a good mood.

While at home or on a lot, press L1(2), R1, X(2), Up.

Special Sparkle Food
Get the following ingredients out of a refrigerator: pork, chicken, tofu and beef. Cook them in an oven. When it comes out, the food will sparkle. Once you eat it, you will sparkle and your stats will not decrease for a short time.

Enable the "Pet Points" cheat until you get up to 125,000 Pet Points.
Go to Town Square and buy several items from each store. You cannot sell the items from the bakery so do not buy any from there. You will get upgrades in the store, but go back home when your inventory is full. Place all the objects on the lawn and sell them to get money.
