EA has just released a new update for its smash hit The Simpsons: Tapped Out for Android devices. The update has been confirmed to bring holiday-themed content, including new characters, buildings and quests.

According to the official changelog, here are the main new features and improvements included in the latest update for The Simpsons: Tapped Out:

“The holidays are in full swing in Springfield and a clerical error has spread more than the usual amount of cheer, in the form of copious amounts of gift cards. How will Springfielders react to their new place among the economic elite?

“With new characters bringing and selling holiday cheer, appropriately themed buildings and a quest line that explores the true meaning of the holidays, this update is filled with enough festive fun to last an entire year or at least what’s left of this one.”

You can now download The Simpsons: Tapped Out for Android 4.6.0 for free via Softpedia. Keep in mind that the game should be fully compatible with all devices running Android 2.3.3 and up.
