After the epic crossover episode that was The Simpsons vs Family Guy, get ready for another crossover that has the potential to upstage the Griffins appearing in Springfield. The producers of the longest running animation series in television history have just announced that they plan to bring the early versions of The Simpsons, the ones featured in the Tracey Ullman episodes, for a special feature.

The two versions of the same family are going to share the screen, according to Entertainment Weekly, on this year's episode Treehouse of Horror, a staple for the show every year on Halloween.

The plot of the episode is said to be written in such a way that it's a spoof for “The Others,” and the old Simpsons characters are going to haunt the new Simpsons' house.

For those who are not familiar with Simpsons trivia, the Tracey Ullman Show ran a series of shorts back in 1987, starring a very early version of the animated family we have come to love today. Later, the short was turned into a full-fledged series by Fox and it's been running for 25 years.

It is said that the voice actors are going to mix up their original voices and their current voices in order to bring the conflict between the two families to life on screen for the first time.

One of the producers on the show, Al Jean, told the press, “We've implied that they were murdered and buried under the house, so this is expanding that thought,” adding that “If people want a real Halloween bloodbath, they get it.”
