Aside the Paula Abdul scandal and the Simon Cowell insulting remark, 'American Idol' is still drawing lots of media attention. This time, it wasn't for something that one of the judges did but because of one very obstinate and determined contestant who thinks they should all go f**k themselves because, you see, he is a superstar and they won't acknowledge it.
Meet Ian Benardo, the man who has such a varied resume that it even includes the following: acting, singing, dancing, chinchilla and being a superstar. You might remember him from the days of yore, when he auditioned for another show on fox, 'So You Think You Can Dance'.
Ian thought he could dance. Ultimately, he couldn't. Now, he thinks he can sing. The judges beg to differ. Benardo presented himself for the auditions to 'American Idol' in New York and was so set to be 'the next American Idol' that he couldn't be bothered to leave until the bodyguards came on the set. You see, he knows that he's already a superstar and that's why he didn't want to leave - because he wanted to prove it to the judges... and to ask for Simon Cowell's US work permit!
After a very impressive entrance, in which Benardo introduced himself and offered as references for his singing skills his family, friends and one of his therapists, came the actual audition. He tried to sing something but ended by literally butchering what otherwise was a great track. This, in turn, prompted Simon Cowell to classify his performance as completely 'rubbish'.
Jeez! One would never fathom the pride that lies in that little skinny man! Benardo flew into a rage and, once again proving he doesn't agree with British people coming to the US and stealing Americans' jobs, he asked to see Cowell's permit. 'As a tax paying American citizen, I ask to see your working visa', the contestant shouted, adding later that he is positively convinced the judge is working illegally in the States.
'Simon has built an empire by sitting in a chair and being bored and British, and I just wanted to know if he is legally allowed to be making millions of dollars off us. Since he had no answer, that makes me believe he may not be legally working here in the United States.', he explained to the 'Washington Post'. Also, we should know that he's not afraid to pick on such a huge name because... 'I'm from the Bronx'.
Dude, really! I mean... really?! Get a life! The clip is below and I personally guarantee you that it is the best you've ever seen. Do not miss the 'superstar' in action...
