Gamers will get two more beta weekends to test the game

Developer Funcom has announced that it has delayed the launch date for its MMO The Secret World to July 3 and that it will allow early access for hardcore fans on June 29.

The game was initially set to arrive on June 19, but it seems that the date was too close to the end of E3 2012 and the new launch window is designed to give the MMO a better shot at success.

For the next two weekends gamers will also be able to take part in beta weekends, which will allow them to test out the Illuminati and the Dragon factions and then see how the player versus player experience of the game is shaping up.

The Secret World aims to revolutionize the MMO genre by eliminating the concept of class and allowing gamers to choose the skills they like best and develop them as they wish.

The plot of the game is linked to three secret societies and their attempts to battle a wave of supernatural creatures that are invading Earth.
