Video game developer Funcom has announced that it has introduced a three-day free play period for all those who are interested in their MMO, The Secret World.

Everyone who is interested in the game can create an account and then play for three days, and anyone who completes 30 quests in the game – which is hard, but possible in 72 hours – will be able to play for an additional two days.

They also get access to another 1,200 points which they can use to equip their character in the in-game store.

Those who get to the end of the first full dungeon, Polaris, will also get the Whispering Demon Ring, with an experience bonus for all those who wield it.

The Secret World has only managed to sell 200,000 copies since it was launched during July and many expect the game to move to a free-to-play model soon.

The company was affected by layoffs which pushed back new content launches for the game.
