Year 2054 is here

We all remember "Minority Report" as the world of the future technology. But, if you reflect for a little while, you come to realize that many of the techniques illustrated are apparently closer to fulfillment.

The world of advertising benefits from electronic readers, Bluetooth out-of-home promotion, sending specific localized messages to a smart phone, behavioral/contextual advertising and smart-recommendation engines of Amazon ilk, predicting what you need before you even realize you want that certain something.

But nothing can compare to the giant 10-by-7-foot interactive news screen hosted by Chicago's O'Hare Airport terminal 3. The user can have instant access to any kind of news, from weather to social/political issues, just a touch away. It is said that future gigantic screens hosted in airports will instantly translate content to foreign languages for international travelers.

Accenture's huge screen will soon be unveiled at New York's Kennedy airport as well, and its resemblance to the movie, set in the year 2054, is no coincidence. The company intended to materialize the screen presented in "Minority Report".

So, we are wondering what comes next in line. Will it be a Tom Cruise replica?
