The phone will feature LG-like flash themes

Tired of that dull Verizon UI? It seems that Samsung has a solution for you, a solution I found out about from some leaked internet photos of the SCH-U170 Samsung mobile phone. From the pictures, it is easy to see the awkward style in which it opens - like a flip clamshell or sideways like a door (a nice thing for the people that like to use their handsets in landscape mode) - and the fact that it will be launched on Verizon's carrier network.

So, Verizon users say goodbye to the UI that annoys them so much and can now make or download their own flash theme, the way it can be done on LG mobile phones. Two thumbs up for Samsung which maintains its policy of keeping the customer happy whatever the means.

Now let's talk about the things that this new Verizon CDMA addition will have to offer to the users that like QWERTY-style but don't really dig the smartphones. First is the QWERTY keyboard (doh), then comes the EV-DO data transfer support, Bluetooth A2DP wireless connectivity (this also brings a little pack of joy, by letting you send all audio to the device and to any device of your choice, not depending on the stereo capability of it), microSD memory expansion card slot, speakerphone and external music control keys.

If this one doesn't remain just a rumor and goes up and going on the Verizon network, Samsung could actually make of it the next big thing, and will probably take the breath out of its direct competitor, the LG vx9900.
