You might recall that towards the beginning of the month, while Computex 2014 was under way, we saw the Chinese company Emdoor unveil one of the first super cheap tablets running Windows 8.1 out of the box.

The slate will reportedly retail for just $100 / €73 and brings to the tablet a decent set of specifications.

Now China-based company Wei Yan is carrying on the legacy and has unveiled the PH102 and PH101T tablets, says Tablet-News.

The first one is an 8-inch device with an IPS display sporting a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution. There are two options to choose from, configuration-wise. You can opt for an Intel quad-core Z3735E processor (fitted with 2GB of RAM + 16GB of internal storage + Wi-Fi) or you can get the Intel quad-core Z3775D processor (with 2GB of RAM + 64GB storage + 3G).

On top of that, Wei Yan throws in two cameras (2MP on the back and 2MP up in front). The first version will take you back with just $112 / €83, while the 3G model is a tad more expensive, selling for $240 / €177.

The Wei Yan PH101T is a little bit more advanced. It comes with a spacious 10-inch display offering full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels) and an Intel quad-core Z3775D 64-bit processor fitted with 2GB of RAM, 64GB of storage.

Customers will be able to take advantage of two cameras (5MP on the back and 2MP in front), 3G and Wi-Fi. The Wei Yan PH101T sells for $288 / €212, so it’s situated a little above average.
