Stranger things have happened. If Arnold Schwarzenegger could make it as Governor of California, there's no reason why Dwayne Johnson, aka “The Rock,” couldn't dream of one day becoming President of the United States of America.

For the time being, though, Dwayne is happy with just being an actor.

As one, he sat down for an interview with Movieline to talk about his latest movie, “Journey 2,” but he also dished some info about his wrestling past and his possible future in politics.

When Osama Bin Laden was killed, Dwayne was one of the first celebrities to tweet about it. He explains how that was possible: with some inside knowledge.

“It was a very interesting day; I’m proud of our country and proud to be American. The individuals who were there were proud to let me know. I knew the President was going to give his speech,” he recalls.

“I thought he was going to give it at a certain time and so I thought, I think it’s appropriate that I tweet 'I’m damn proud to be an American' and keep it in that space without giving away too much information. And then I got a call saying, 'Now the President will give his speech in a couple of hours',” Johnson adds.

It's not that unexpected to hear that a celebrity has connections high up, connections that share with him information before it gets out to the public.

However, it's what Johnson said next that really got his fans all hyped up.

“Right now the best way that I can impact the world is through entertainment. One day, and that day will come, I can impact the world through politics. The great news is that I am American, therefore I can become President,” he says.

In other words, we should probably not rule out seeing his name sometime in the future, in the running for President.

Dwayne's full interview is here. It's a pleasure to read, trust us – so enjoy it, while you let the thought that he might one day be the President sink in.
