Rihanna proves to the entire world that she doesn't care about the controversy and she loves to shock

Remember that time when Rihanna showed up at an award show on the red carpet wearing a transparent gown that left close to nothing to the imagination? Of course you do, more people had an opinion about that dress than they do for the next presidential elections or the healthcare reform.

Well, Rihanna might have shocked many of us by daring to bare, but she's laughing all the way to the bank these days as she managed to grab the entire world’s attention by boldly going where no one dared go before her.

Before you jump in to correct me, let me explain the above statement. We're not talking about D-list and C-list celebrities that have to struggle very hard and go to incredible lengths to remain relevant. We're talking about A-listers, since, we can all agree I think, that Rihanna is a bona fide A-lister.

The unwritten rules of fame clearly state that once you've reached a certain level of notoriety, you are no longer required to do certain things like undress in public, whether for a movie role or for a music video. But Rihanna is still doing that, just for the hell of it.

When she made an appearance at the CFDA Awards in her now infamous “invisible dress,” Rihanna knew full well what she was getting into. After all, it's not every day that an A-lister willingly chooses to expose bits of their anatomy. This only happens in case of a wardrobe malfunction, but that was not the case here.

Rihanna simply chose to skip her bra under a transparent dress that was nothing more than “just fishnet and crystals and a couple of fingers crossed.” That's the exact description of the dress given by the stylist who created it, who proudly added “we definitely wanted to make it a little bit scandalous.”

Of course, she wound up winning the 2014 Fashion Icon Award from the Council of Fashion Designers of America, but surely some of them must have slapped their foreheads in anger when they saw Rihanna's outfit on the red carpet.

But the fame train doesn't stop there. Proving that she knows what to give the masses – bits of celebrity bodies that everyone drools over, Rihanna also managed to pick up the Most Desirable Woman award on Monday, June 9, at the 2014 Guys Choice Awards.

Men have spoken and, in their minds, a celebrity who bears skin, is the hottest. It's no use having a hot body if you keep it covered. Of course, this doesn't even begin to address the issue or just how moral and appropriate her attire was on the evening of the CFDA Awards.

Mark my words, Rihanna and others like her are going to be the reason award shows like the Oscars and the Grammys are going to become R-rated events that are going to only be shown after midnight and only on select channels.

It's the Miley Cyrus VMAs twerking incident all over again, except this time with a little more added skin. But Rihanna doesn't seem to be bothered. When veteran music group TLC publicly spoke out against her undressing tactics as a mean to promote her music, the Bahan singer responded in kind, posting a somewhat controversial photo of the members from back in the day, that showed them cupping their chests and smiling at the camera.

In fact, she offered the best conclusion to the entire scandal when she tweeted: “When there's no changing the fact that I'm me, and they're well... they're them.” Wiser words have never been tweeted.
