The Queen of England is one of the severest enemies of Islam, said Ayman al-Zawahri, an important al Qaeda leader.
According to Reuters, this statement was made in a video material released after the July 7 attack, in which the suicide bombers were praised.
The 27 minute footage, in which Queen Elizabeth II is held responsible for Britain's
"crusader laws" and is called the enemy of the Muslims, was obtained by Sunday Times, which warned that Zawahri had threaten to launch more terrorist attacks.
In the same video material, there is also Mohammad Sidique Khan, one of the terrorists involved in the London subway bombing, who talks about his religious beliefs.
"It is very clear, brothers and sisters, that the path of jihad and the desire for martyrdom is embedded in the holy prophet and his beloved companions", the 30 year old English citizen said.
"By preparing ourselves for this kind of work, we are guaranteeing ourselves for paradise and gaining the pleasure of Allah", he added
According to the English newspaper, the statement has prompted intelligence officers to alert Buckingham Palace that the Queen had become a specific target of al Qaeda.
