It looks like all the famous ladies out there decided to get pregnant this year - and now I'm afraid I have to deliver all you guys out there a piece of bad news: one of the world's best-paid, most famous supermodels, Alessandra Ambrosio, might be taking a stroll down the old pregnancy lane, as
many of the cool (and up to date) websites out there are abuzz with the news that the Victoria's Secret "Angel" is expecting her first baby with her longtime boyfriend Jamie Mazur. Lucky guy, then, I'd say. Man, this pregnancy epidemics is getting serious. I mean, if even supermodels dare to get pregnant and seem unaffected by the prospect of putting on a bit of weight, then things really must be changing in the fashion industry. Either that, or Heidi Klum having three kids and looking more gorgeous than ever was enough of a motivating factor for her younger fellow models.
I certainly wasn't expecting Alessandra to be pregnant, but I'm happy for her and I'm sure she'll make a great mother - seeing that it seems she has a rather more balanced and mature attitude to life and fame than many other models out there.
The very fact that she is giving maternity a chance at 27 tells us more about her than 20 sexy magazine spreads for some famous designer or another. Plus, we have to take into account the fact that Alessandra is one of the few supermodels about whom we don't get to read every day in scandal newspapers, who doesn't do drugs and isn't anorexic. Alessandra in fact admits to liking chocolate and eating it every day - while working out to maintain her form, of course.
Well, now that she's pregnant she doesn't really need a pretext to eat chocolate - which is probably all the more reason to celebrate, being a supermodel and all. Alessandra is reportedly ecstatic about the news and was happy to let all her friends know about her pregnancy. And just in case you needed some food for thought, here's some. One of the planet's best-paid supermodels is having a baby and is not being afraid to put on weight - shouldn't that send some sort of positive signals to women out there? Anyone got Tara Reid's number?
