A support document entitled “About the Apple Store app” has been posted by the iPhone maker online. Its purpose is explained with a description similar to that posted by Apple on the app’s iTunes App Store page. For one reason or another, Apple felt compelled to let everyone know just what to do with the new piece of software.

“Tap the Apple Store app on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch and you can do all things Apple,” the company states. “Buy Apple products and accessories, read customer reviews, find an Apple Retail Store, stay up to date with in-store events, and make Personal Shopping, Genius Bar, or One to One appointments.” Apple then proceeds to include a list of key features, saying, “With the Apple Store app, you can:

“- See new and featured products from Apple. - Shop a wide selection of products available from the Apple Online Store. - Find the latest accessories and software. - Read customer reviews and get answers to product questions. - Locate any Apple Retail Store in the world. - Make Personal Shopping, Genius Bar, and One to One appointments. - Sign up for workshops and events at your favorite Apple Retail Store.”

The Mac maker reveals that its Apple Store app is immediately available from the U.S. iTunes Store using the App Store on the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, as well as with iTunes on a Mac or Windows PC. A link to that location is offered. Users have the option of previewing it in their web browser (via iTunes Preview) or of going directly to the iTunes Store and download the software to their computer.

According to the document, requirements include iOS 3.0 or later and an Apple iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. In case customers need even more assistance with the app, there’s an online help to be reviewed, as well as troubleshooting guides.
