IGo3D, the German 3D printer online store, has added a new printer to its lineup, the new PrintMate 3D DIY kit. The kit is based on the RepRap project and aims for simplicity and ease of build.

Putting the kit together requires no soldering and no crimping; everything can be put together by hand. The frame is made from lasercut plywood and there's an SD card reader and an LCD panel for standalone printing.

The print volume is 200x180x200 mm, and the printer itself is 420x400 mm. It comes with NEMA 17 stepper motors and boasts a layer resolution of 50 microns. The PrintMate comes with a 0.05mm nozzle and works with 3mm filaments. It supports PLA, ABS, nylon, Laybrick, Laywood.

The PrintMate 3D kit sells for €950 ($1,300) and is the cheapest 3D printer iGo3D offers. All in all, the new device doesn't exactly stand out with anything, but if you're from Europe and want an open source design, it could be a good choice.
