The Princeton Jive Box is one iPod sound system you don't meet everyday, and we're most glad we can introduce it to you, because this gadget is really worth taking a good look at, if not for anything else, at least for its design. While most other iPod docks/ speaker systems out there boast the same classic industry-approved design, the Jive Box comes with a different approach to shapes and functionality.

Now, how about a cube that looks like a piece of post-modern art for your iPod system? The Princeton Jive Box sports a very refined look, though some iPod users might say it is a little bit too daring.

With its upper black cloth grille and asymmetrical LED lighting liner, the Princeton Jive Box is definitely one audio system that will instantly draw attention. This audio gadget is even more fun to integrate in your home or office décor as its lights can be easily switched between red, blue and green, all with the touch of a button. The iPod cradle is on the top side, offering excellent visibility and easy access, while next to it a small backlit LCD screen will display info on music playback or radio station, music source and even clock.

The Princeton Jive Box comes with a no-nonsense 4.9" subwoofer with a down-firing loading for a good dispersion and serious, chunky sound; the maximal power of this system reaches a whopping 90W, which is no thing to toy with in a room. On the connectivity side, the Princeton Jive Box sports a USB port, an Aux In to hook up your MP3 player, video out and headphone output. The supplied remote will let you quickly access the needed functions and boasts an 8m range.

It is most likely that we'll see the Princeton Jive Box hitting the shelves around mid-December, but regarding price, we're still unsure: some sources claim a price tag around $160 while others say that the retail price will be as high as $325, which is about twice as much. Fact is, you'll get a cool and powerful audio system.
