It’s high time the world turned its back on her, editorial says

After a few, clearly very troubled years, Lindsay Lohan has faced the music: charged with violation of parole, she was sentenced to 90 days in jail, much to her desperation and, ultimately, sheer disbelief. Even so, while being threatened with a stay in prison, Lindsay still managed to show that she thought of herself as above all considerations with a simple gesture like this one. For this alone, she should be boycotted until she disappears from the face of the earth, the New York Post says.

Many were shocked or, at the very least, unpleasantly surprised to see that Lindsay had a profanity inked on the nail of her middle finger, one directed not only at the judge but at the world in general. Even more were happy when she was sentenced to jail and she burst out in tears, while appearing to say to herself “Surely, this can’t possibly happen to me,” the Post piece says. Yet, it’s time Lindsay got a much-needed wakeup call: in a world where other young people like her would kill for the chances and opportunities she’s had, it’s a mockery to have her throwing it all down the drain only because she’s spoiled.

“Enough! Blubbering, bawling mega boob Lindsay Lohan doesn’t deserve a speck of your sympathy or support, nor a dollop of respect. What Linz desperately needs is a swift kick in the teeth, a foot in the backside and a broom with which to clean up her many messes […]. She’s finished. Over. Once, she was a role model for young ladies, the fresh-faced child star who entered our living rooms and movie theaters with heaps of promise and every opportunity known to man and the creator. Now, she poses a dangerous example to girls everywhere, proving that, with enough money, fame and drugs, one never has to take responsibility for one’s behavior,” The Post argues.

She’s had one too many second chances and has continued to act in a way that shows beyond any doubt that she couldn’t care less about anybody but her precious self. Each time she got into trouble, she blamed those around her but never herself. Lindsay Lohan got away with everything simply because she’s a celebrity and, as they say, celebrities don’t even know the meaning of “no.” The problem is, the same piece says, that Lindsay doesn’t deserve to be a celebrity. So, since it’s highly unlikely that she serves her full sentence in a regular prison cell, there is only one way to teach Lindsay a much-needed lesson in humility: boycott her.

“In the crowded LA penal system, it’s unlikely Lindsay will really spend 90 days in jail. I fear that Lindsay will soon be back on the streets and freeways and in our faces, posing a disgraceful example to young women everywhere who just want to catch an honest break. There is one sure-fire cure. Don’t see her movies. Don’t rent her videos. Starve Lindsay Lohan. It’s the only way,” The Post urges.
