14 DAY TRIAL // Sometimes the Internet makes us do things that we end up regretting later on, and it's a known fact that those less experienced in the world of social media have had to cope with rather unpleasant consequences because of their technical clumsiness.
And there is nothing worse than unwillingly committing a serious blunder online than being a respected politician who does it and gets caught red-handed.
That is the case of Simon Danczuk, a 48-year-old Labour MP in the UK, who "accidentally" favorited a lewd tweet, an image from a Twitter account which posted sexy pictures of women, to be more precise.
However, The Telegraph reports that the reputed character was not in the least taken aback by the whole issue. On the contrary, he admitted to watching adult content from time to time, like any normal human being.
Although his frankness might have been a little more surprising than the technical blunder, the politician denied having favorited the tweet intentionally.
It was all because of the charger
He did not blame on his technical illiteracy either but hastened to find fault with the charger he was using at the time, “I had put my iPhone on charge using one of those uncertified chargers. I went on to Twitter while it was plugged in,” he declared for The Telegraph.
The man says that that is how it all started and that it was the evil charger that made him do such a reckless thing.
But people don’t really buy it. Not that they are judging him, he is a man after all, but they think that since he was open about watching adult content, then he could have come clean about the tweet as well or at least find a better excuse.
But politicians are known for their inclination to not being completely honest about things, so that might be one of the reasons he was unable to go through with his confession.
But at the end of the day, even if he is a public person, he should not be forced to go into details that relate to his personal life or answer questions regarding his leisure time activities.
