Not enough to birth any DLC, however

Final Fantasy XIII, the game that rocked a lot of boats in Japan when it was launched in December, last year, is just three weeks away from its North American release, and Yoshinori Kitase, its producer, really praised the PlayStation 3 and the part that the console played in shaping the title. Originally, it started out as a PS2 title, but, then, Sony released the third console of the family, and everything had to be rewired in order to keep up with the new technology. And it looks like all the new wires ended up in the right place, at least as far as Kitase was concerned.

"The PS3 is definitely a spectacular machine and the team was really able to realize its visions for the characters and graphics, and at the same time, were able to have big onscreen battles going on," he said while talking to the PlayStation blog. "The PS3 hardware was something that really helped envision the game." Of course, this doesn't mean that the Xbox 360 version of FF XIII is inferior in any way, or that the hardware is any less adequate. After all, this is the PlayStation's blog, so there's little chance that the Xbox 360 was brought into the conversation at any point during the talks.

As for other things that have been haunting gamers, the "extra ideas" that were rumored to have been taken out of the game won't be making a DLC appearance anytime in the near future, or in the extended one either, according to Kitase. "Regarding the DLC content, we feel that the final product is 100% enjoyable…it’s the complete package. So we’re not planning any DLC at this time," he said.

"In regard to the rumored cut content, we feel it was taken out of context. There are a lot of ideas that are brought to the table, and then the team takes the best ideas out of those, and the final product is polished that way. There was content that were 'ideas' that didn’t make the final content, but the team isn’t looking to release that as downloadable content."
