Another crazy contraption from the inventor of the musical condom

I don't know if you've heard of Dr. Hryhory Chausovsky, a leading scientist at the University of Zaporizhia in Ukraine. Well, he's the man who invented the world's first musical condom, and now, he has come back with yet another very innovative and a bit bizarre device, namely the "Talking Plate", as DPA informs us, quoting a Fakty newspaper article.

This truly unique contraption is aimed especially at the "food challenged" people, so to speak, namely those persons who're trying to lose weight, but can't really seem to be making any progress. Thus, whenever the overeater fills up his/her plate with large amounts of food, the "talking plate" starts lashing at him/her, uttering some pretty uncomfortable phrases that will surely make the eater think twice before reaching out for a second helping.

The device has a diameter of 15 centimeters (just about the size of a regular plate) and is connected to a Palm, Pocket PC or PDA. The weight sensors built-in the plate allow the user to load up his/her plate with a fixed volume of food, and if the weight surpasses a certain pre-established value, the plate plays some pretty "inspiring" pre-recorded messages, as for example "Where's your willpower?" or "Stop right there! And what about excess weight?".

Moreover, since overeaters are known to be quite the cheaters when it comes to retaining from their favorite meals (and thus, fill up their plate several times, with lower amounts of food), the Ukrainian scientist has also developed a special belt, that lets the user know whenever his/her belly are quite full, and the binge eating should stop. All of these crazy devices are possible due to the fact that, as Chausovsky admits himself, "Modern microchip technologies offer almost unlimited possibilities for practical applications", and boy, would they be helpful in some situations!
