“The Place Beyond the Pines” Trailer: Ryan Gosling Is “Riveting”

Ryan Gosling is getting major Oscar buzz again, this time for a family drama called “The Place Beyond the Pines.” It just got a first trailer which, as usual, you can see in full above.

Gosling plays a stunt biker turned bank robber slash absentee father and, from the pull-quotes in the trailer, we notice that critics have already dubbed his performance “riveting.”

Bradley Cooper gets equally warm praise: he plays the rookie cop who goes after the bad guy but realizes that the bad guy might be on the wrong side of the tracks.

“The Place Beyond the Pines” also stars Ray Liotta and Eva Mendes, and is directed by Derek Cianfrance who worked with Gosling before on the critically acclaimed (and totally heartbreaking) “Blue Valentine.”

The film will be out in US theaters on March 29, 2013. Meanwhile, enjoy the first official trailer!
