US-based game developer FarSight Studios has just announced that “The Pinball Arcade” game will be available for download in the Android Market starting February 9.

In addition, the company confirmed plans to launch the game on the Xbox 360, PlayStation3, Macintosh and PlayStation Vita platforms in March of 2012. There will also be a PC version available later in the year.

Although Android Market offer users lots of pinball-style games, FarSight Studios claims that their game is “the most accurate and realistic pinball videogame ever created.”

“The Pinball Arcade” comes with several licensed pinball tables from Bally, Williams, Gottlieb and Stern, as well as some of the most popular tables released lately.

We are thrilled to expand and build upon the Ripley's Believe it or Not franchise as it gives our fans another enjoyable way to experience this exciting brand and help solidify Ripley's commitment to family entertainment,” said Bill Daley, director of Online Marketing and New Media from Ripley Entertainment.

According to the developers, the game will initially be launched with four tables: Tales of the Arabian Nights, Ripley's Believe It or Not, Theatre of Magic, and Black Hole.

However, each month FarSight Studios plans to release two additional pinball tables, which will be added to the lineup. Unfortunately, while players will be able to sample each of these new releases, they will have to pay for them in case they want to unlock all features.

It appears that FarSight Studios will be launching paid versions of each table individually or in “themed” packs over the next several years.

"With the licenses we're acquiring, we'll be able to re-create nearly all of the highest-ranked tables in pinball history. Our goal is to make The Pinball Arcade the definitive pinball game franchise of all time!" said Bobby King, FarSight's director of Development and lead designer of The Pinball Arcade.
