It might just curb your phone addiction though

We've all seen them, people who can't spend even an hour without pulling out their phone and playing something on it, texting or just plain holding it for comfort. Maybe some of you even were in that situation.

I myself haven't owned a high-tech smartphone for very long, so maybe it just hasn't set in for me. But I probably should curb my metaphorical egress before it gets worse.

To help people free their minds of the constant need to use their phones, though without the shock of total separation, the NoPhone team from New York have created the NoPhone.

All you have to do is pick it up and hold it. That's it. Although, granted, it probably has something to do with the NoPhone being nothing but a slab of plastic.

The item was launched on Kickstarter a while ago as a joke, but some people clearly felt it was more than that considering that the project actually made over three times the target cash amount.

Thus, you can rest easy knowing that out there, right now, there exists a “a technology-free alternative to constant hand-to-phone contact that allows you to stay connected with the real world.”

I could summarize what the crowdfunding page says, but you'll laugh more if you just go over and read the description for yourself.

We wrote about this "device" before, but we figured you'd appreciate a heads up now that the campaign has finally closed and that, apparently, the team has decided to keep selling the thing via retail.
