Luxury untamed

The name of Alfred Dunhill is synonymous with luxury in its most intriguing yet common forms, from fashion to home decor and all sorts of gadgets; and for this Christmas, the British designer has prepared a new potential gift, dedicated to all those who are into spending some serious green on top-notch opulence. And since USB drives are one of the things we use everyday, it's in this direction the creative effort was headed to.

When it comes to adding a spectacularly luxurious touch to your portable devices, there are few things that can beat diamonds. And if black diamonds are in the same equation, we have a winning combination.

This USB drive boasts a massive 8 GB storage capacity, which is a bit higher than the everyday sticks we abuse at work and this means extended functionality. Despite the fact that further technical details are missing (hey, it's a designer-signed gadget, after all) we dare to say it is a USB 2.0 drive (by the way, do they still make 1.1 units?).

The housing is made from metal and this adds to the overall protection factor for your data. Yet by “metal” you're not to understand steel or titanium or other cheap stuff like that. The Alfred Dunhill 8 GB USB drive comes with an oxidized sterling silver chassis and bears no less than 272 diamonds; not all of them are black – some are “white” and make a nifty contrasting pattern breathing elegance and a refined, stylish attitude.

On the back of the Pave Black Diamond USB, you'll also find the small and discrete signature of Alfred Dunhill, the very effigy of luxury itself. This is one of the top 20 gifts chosen by the Dunhill house and will be available worldwide in Dunhill stores. Unfortunately, there is no price tag, but most likely we can't afford it, the rumor goes.

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. That's why we thought it would be a good idea to create an email address for you to help us a little in finding gadgets we missed. Interesting links are bound to be posted with recognition going mainly to those who submit. The address is .
