The Patriots Lead the Giants in Pre-Super Bowl Yahoo Searches

Regardless of whether you're in the US or not, the Super Bowl is coming this weekend. And, regardless of whether you care or not, you're going to be hearing more about it.

In that vein, Yahoo has now shared some search stats leading up to the big match on Sunday, pitting the two NFL teams, the New York Giants and the New England Patriots, against each other in terms of interest.

If the Super Bowl were scored according to Yahoo searches, the Patriots would easily win. In the past year, the team has generated more searches and the New York Giants only came close to matching the interest twice.

By January 2012, the Patriots were generating 50 percent more searches than the Giants. It remains to be seen whether that interest means anything on the field though.
