The Order: 1886 might have been officially delayed, but the development team at Ready at Dawn is still trying to make gamers care about the world and the backstory of the title with a new video that focuses on the creation of lore and the way technology is affecting the story.

Gamers will start out hunting half-human, half-monster hybrids as part of an ancient order that was founded by King Arthur himself in order to protect humanity.

The company states on the official PlayStation Blog that, "With the Industrial Revolution, technology gives them the upper hand and a time of uncomfortable peace settles in the Kingdom and the Commonwealth, our version of Pax Britannia. But this peace brings on a new opponent."

With the ancient enemies now defeated, the Order has to deal with a powerful rebellion launched by humans themselves, which means that the streets of London become the place for a savage battle that does not bode well for humanity.

Ready at Dawn also delivers some more details on the Blackwater, a special substance that helps the knights both during combat and while they live their normal life.

The studio adds, "With centuries of use, the Blackwater has imbued the Knights with an inhuman longevity as well as mental and physical abilities they can use in combat, a state they call Blacksight. Using Blacksight, Galahad enters into a heightened state allowing him to focus his skills and execute precise attacks."

Sony says that the delay for The Order: 1886 was introduced in order to make sure that the game that reaches players delivers on the promises made by the company when it first announced it.

Ready at Dawn believes that its game will be the first one to explore all the computing power that's offered by the PlayStation 4, bringing impressive increase in the quality of graphics and in the fluidity of gameplay.

The company says that players will be unable to tell the moment when the game transitions from cutscene to action set piece and that more details than ever are used to create the look of each of the included characters.

The Order: 1886 was one of the titles on which Sony relied to draw gamers to the PlayStation 4 this coming holiday season and it will be interesting to see whether the company announces another title that can perform a similar role.
