Ready at Dawn is currently developing the PlayStation 4 exclusive title The Order 1886, and its Japanese reveal has had Sony Computer Entertainment Japan and Asia release some new information on the game.

The game's story follows the effects of sudden mutations that have started to manifest in the human genetic code around the 7th century, with a part of humanity turning into a new species of half man, half beast hybrid.

In an effort to combat the resilience and overwhelming regenerative powers of the new half-breeds, an Order of Knights was instated, with many brave men and women offering their lives to the protection of mankind.

“Nobody knows when and how it formed, but it existed for a longer time than the British Empire itself,” according to Sony.

“The members of the Order hold great authority in the British Empire. It's not uncommon to see the Knights wearing the most advanced custom-made equipment during investigations of crime scenes involving the enemy.

“In addition to that, all the members of the Order have pledged absolute loyalty to Her Majesty the Queen of the British Empire. It's also said that they all share a common secret,” DS quoted from the official statement.

The Order: 1886 is set in 19th century London, where the development of science and the industrial revolution have become strong assets in the human race's fight, allowing it an edge over the beast-men for the first time in history.

The cityscape is dominated by patrolling airships, monitoring the city day and night, and the electric-powered railway connects each district in the city.

The PlayStation 4 exclusive title is slated for a fall 2014 release, and it certainly seems like it will benefit from a deep and rich story, rife with twists and surprises.
